What’s happenin out there people? It’s Monday, June Twenty Ninth, Two Thousand Nine. This is Daily Bread.
Even the most positive people you know have negative thoughts. Nobody I’ve ever met is free from all negativity. Shit, even Jesus flipped out in the market place and overturned tables and went on a tirade. You see, it is not necessarily the negative thoughts or energy that is bad, it is what you do with it, and getting stuck on it, that is bad.
The most negative emotions can trigger us to act and evolve ourselves to better positions. Our anger can propel us forward and fire our passion to make change in our lives. Of course, it is a double-edged sword, because without self-control, we may lash out and physically assault someone or turn on ourselves and inflict pain upon ourselves.
This is where our thoughts come into play. Subsequently, this is also where the “STOP METHOD” comes into play. It is a simple concept; however, it is not easy to enforce rules upon yourself and to be consistently disciplined and focused. The “STOP METHOD” is interrupting your own thought process by telling yourself literally (in your head) to STOP. As soon as something happens that triggers a sequence of negative thought patterns, tell yourself to STOP immediately and repeatedly. You might tell yourself once, but the negative thoughts flood into your mind again. REPEAT YOURSELF. STOP.
Eventually this method becomes second nature and almost subconscious. Stay disciplined and you will notice a difference in your environment around you. It also helps flush out negative vibes in social situations too. Try it.
